The grounds and trails remain open year round, but while the home is closed, below is a virtual tour of the Dougherty Mission House.
Retired Presbyterian minister Homer Nye acts as Peter Dougherty to raise funds for the restoration and operation of the Dougherty House.
The Old Mission Church replica was the church and school of the Dougherty Mission to the Old Mission Peninsula. Exhibits in the museum illustrate the lives of the Native Americans from the 1100s on and of the early European Settlers who arrived in 1838. Exhibits are managed by the Old Mission Peninsula Historical Society.
In 2008, an ice house from a nearby cottage was deconstructed and reconstructed on the foundation of the Dougherty House's original ice house. At the time, this video was produced, showing the work of our dedicated volunteers as they rebuilt the ice house from ground up.
